Brief Summary

This survey was to determine how many people have been affected by the UK's Gender Recognition Panel stance that nonbinary people are simply not firm enough in a binary gender identity to be granted a gender recognition certificate of their choosing.

Extract from Report

Of all 118 usable survey respondents, myself included, only 2 reported that they had applied for Gender Recognition Certificates (GRC) whilst identifying as nonbinary. One of those was rejected, while the other is still awaiting a response.

The remaining respondents have all reported that they have not applied for a GRC. 98 people reported that they would have applied for one if the law recognised their gender identity, while 16 people said that would not have. 88 people reported that nonbinary genders not being legally recognised was a factor in their decision not to apply.
